Passport Application
You must apply in person in the Register of Deeds’ office for a passport. Current driver’s license or other photo ID must be presented at time of application. A certified birth certificate and 2 passport photos must be sent with application. The birth certificate will be returned with your passport. Children under the age of 16 must have both parents present for signatures on the application. It takes 10-13 weeks for the application to be processed and the passport is valid for 10 years. Passports for children under the age of 16 are valid for 5 years.

o Proof of citizenship (original or certified copy of birth certificate, naturalization papers, etc.)
o Photo identification (driver’s license, state-issued ID card)
o If a minor child, must provide birth certificate

New Passport Card
What is a Passport Card?
These cards will carry the rights and privileges of the U.S. passport book and will be adjudicated to the exact same standards.
Passport cards can be used for travel to and from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda by land or sea. The passport card cannot be used for international travel by air.
Expiration Dates
Cards will be valid for 10 years for adults and 5 years for children 15 years of age or younger.
