JURY HOTLINE
Jurors must call 989-743-2605 after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday night of their week of service to see if their panel is required to report the following morning.
EXCUSALS
If you are not available on your date of service, you may request a postponement or excusal. The request must be made in writing and include a statement of facts you believe prohibit you from serving along with supporting documents. All requests can be made via:

Acceptable reason or having your jury service postponed or excused are:
– You have served within the last 12 months.
– You are over 70 years of age and choose not to serve.
– You have a disabling medical problem, this must be verified with a letter from your physician or a disability certificate.
– You are a nursing mother. You must submit verification from your physician.
– You have moved out of Shiawassee County. You must submit proof of your new address.
– You are in the military. You must provide proof of enlistment.
– You are not a United States Citizen. You must provide proof of citizenship for the country you are a citizen of.
– You have a felony conviction.
