Dog License Information
Shiawassee County dog licenses must be purchased through the Shiawassee County Treasurer’s Office, via walk-in, mail, or phone (989-743-2224). We are located in the Circuit Court House on the Second Floor. Office Hours are 8AM-12PM and 1PM-5PM, Monday-Friday.
2026 Dog Licenses will go on sale December 1, 2025 through February 28, 2026.
We will need proof of Spay or Neuter Certificate (if applicable) & Current Rabies Vaccination from a Certified Veterinarian
Dog License On or After March 1st = Late License & Price Doubles:
Pricing is as Follows:
On Time Male or Female Intact Dog – $30.00
**after March 1st, Male or Female Intact Dog – $60.00
On Time Spayed or Neutered Dog – $10.00
**after March 1st, Spayed or Neutered Dog $20.00
**Please note there is a $3.00 fee if purchasing through mail or online.**
**You can only have 4 dogs to One Address, if more than 4, Contact Animal Control at 989-743-2406 to apply for a kennel license
