The Prosecuting Attorney is the chief law enforcement official in the County. The Prosecutor reviews, authorizes and prosecutes violations of felony and misdemeanor criminal laws committed inside the County. She represents the People in criminal matters before the District and Circuit Courts. She represents and advises the County Board of Commissioners. The Prosecuting Attorney is elected to a 4 year term by the voters of Shiawassee County on a partisan ballot in the November general election.
